my sore throat! good for me in that i have not been debilitated by a throat ailment in a looong time and by long i mean, more than half a year. it happens at least 3 times a year where the huge tonsils i was born with brings me the good graces of a sore throat. and when i mean sore...i mean SOAR far far away. by my luck i accumulated comp time last weekend and have been able to take time off from work without letting my vacay time uselessly get eaten away. it just so happened that on saturday a visit to the doctor for something completely unrelated also allowed me a prescription of antibiotics, which i am certain my body is completely unaffected by as of yet. after 2 days of a worsening condition...i even did the ol' salt water gargle like my mommy told me so. but this time my boyfriend advised that cayenne pepper will do it's duty. i was skeptical - i even googled and read a good 3 pages into my search results before i was convinced. and like the saint that he is, he made the wonderful elixir for me and coached me by my side while mixing it with a spoon so that it wouldn't settle and so that for sure i would "get the good stuff" in the back of my throat. and lawdy lawd it worked! i never had a reason to keep cayenne pepper in the pantry - 'cept for the one time i thought i would do a detox with the lemonade diet. i was too afraid to go along with it. so now 5 days into 2010 and i've been in bed without the ac running (to keep my airways moist) and re-watching band of brothers. spielberg and hanks will be out with the pacific series in march and like a geek, i am muy excited.
