ahhh-mah-zing that just a little over a year ago i was lamenting over the fleeting and frequent short trips to home that i am always limited to. and that my then baby-in-belly would have a sense of guam much too late in life. not that she would even have any cognitive recollection of this trip....but at least it is now written.
here just days from my shortest trip home, it can only be said that the familiarity of company amidst a potentially-stagnant place offers an irreplaceable sense of joy. those same faces that i have been deprived of by distance since moving away are always the reasons to come back. Oh, and i have bullet points for my nuggets of reflection...
- status quo: new businesses are popping up everywhere but most of the ones still surviving are slacking off. this means you don't get the same service or product than what I used to.
- greener pastures: new trash bins, LED lighting, healthy food options. People are finally caring about being green but there's still a long way to go.
- grounding up: lots of new construction. better buildings. less abandoned spaces.
